Some members’ addresses are suppressed on the public register. When one of them moves, staff at a member organisation can’t confirm the new address by looking it up, so they need a confirmation letter from the member. Staff could already ask new joiners for that letter from the joins screen. The address change queue couldn’t.
Julian built it. A proof-of-address item in the work queue now has a suppressed address button beside the usual proof request. Pressing it runs an n8n workflow that emails the member asking for their confirmation letter, with a link to an upload page that says which letter or email to upload. The item records the request in its history, case note and waiting alert, and shows a hint when the register lookup lists the member as suppressed.
A staff member still chooses to send the request, reads the uploaded letter and decides whether to accept it. The member’s records can then update, but only when the register matches the new address. Judging whether a document shows where someone lives stays with a person.
In your own office, check whether address changes get proved the same way for new members as for existing ones.
