Back in 2010, there was a challenge to explain the nature of our work to the offshore team. Associations and the drivers of the need to form Associations were foreign to the Indian team.
Combined with that there was a definite communication gap. We could only communicate in English and the team's English was definitely as a second language.
It is amazing, though, that in just a few years these things have changed massively.
Associations are burgeoning along with the growing middle class.
The communication gap is closing every day (unfortunately not due to our improving Hindi!). New graduates are coming through where English is the first language.
This is already leading to improvements in our work assignments and is only going to continue to improve.
